About Us
The Central Montana Food Hub connects farmers, ranchers, and communities to strengthen our regional food system. We manage local food aggregation, distribution, and programming across Central Montana and are currently constructing our new facility in Harlowton, MT. Our team is small, collaborative, and mission-driven — we’re looking for a skilled bookkeeper to help us grow with strong financial systems.
Position Summary
We are seeking a Part-Time Bookkeeper (10–20 hours per week) to manage bookkeeping, grant reporting, and project tracking for the Food Hub. This position is remote, with the option to transition to onsite or hybrid once our Harlowton offices are complete.
Key Responsibilities
Maintain accurate bookkeeping using QuickBooks Online
Reconcile accounts, track income/expenses, and manage cash flow
Prepare financial reports (P&L, balance sheet, budgets, grant/project reporting)
Manage payroll and process state fund/worker’s comp reports
Support construction project and multiple grant reporting requirements
Assist with system-building for a startup-style, growing organization
Learn and work with our Local Food Marketplace platform that integrates with QuickBooks
Qualifications
Proficiency with QuickBooks Online (required)
Bookkeeping/accounting experience (2+ years preferred)
Familiarity with grant or project reporting strongly preferred
Experience with payroll and compliance reporting a plus
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
Comfortable working independently and remotely
Interest in or connection to local food, farming, ranching, or food access programming is valued
Schedule & Compensation
Part-time: 10–20 hours per week
Flexible schedule, remote work (Central MT time zone preferred)
Hourly pay, commensurate with experience
Location
Remote position, with the option for onsite/hybrid once our new offices open in Harlowton, MT
